Jack and Dorothy Greenleaf
United in Christine Marriage, October 19, 1946
Blessings and joyful best wishes to Jack and Dorothy Greenleaf who
celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this past Wednesday, October
19. They celebrated with some of their family and also with the
assembly of Wednesday evening worshippers with whom they gather each
week here at Grace for the Lord’s gifts. Through the years the Lord
has richly blessed them. We pray Christ's continuing goodness upon
their home and happiness. Our prayers and congratulations are with
them.

A
Surprise Visit
from
Pastor Robert and Mrs. Beverly
Kavasch
Pastor Kavasch was founding
pastor
of Grace, Auburn, 1959-1967.
Visiting Auburn for the first time since
the congregation's 25th anniversary,
it could only be a brief visit, but the
Kavaschs are both very well, extend their
greetings and affection to all those who may remember them.
They
are shown here with
Judy Lance who walked in fortunately
just in time to see them.
In March trees on the west side of church came
down. Debris from them had been causing damage to the roof.

We witnessed a unique mystery of nature in front of church.
A twenty yard cube of flying honey bees occupied the
space above our church lawn.
In the morning we found them swarmed in one of the near trees.
John Bacon came over to recover them.
The Grace sanctuary received a fresh painting following drywall
repairs.
The sanctuary now has three coordinated colors with accents
rather than a solid monochrome.
How very blessed we are with such a beautiful setting for
the celebration of the Divine Service in which Christ delivers His
Gifts.

A Bit of Excitement No one was hurt, praise God.
A young WHS student had her steering lock up and
somehow
ran right up the guy wire anchoring the utility pole in front of
church.
A mother and two small children were walking on the sidewalk at the
parking
entrance
when it happened, but neither they nor the driver
was injured.
It was definitely a neighborhood novelty for an hour or so.
